IT'S REALLY HAPPENING...I'M ABOUT TO UPDATE!!!!

Ok, so I know it's been a LONG time since I've updated, 3 months I think.  Thank you for your undying patience and proding...so here I am.

Quick update on life:

  • Dec: Christmas was amazing; Mexico, what else can I say???
  • Jan: Mat. leave is up; started back to work 2 days/week, hence the lack of updates.  My sister is back in town, spending time with her.  Anyone need a good Chiropractor?
  • End of Jan: Mexico AGAIN...I know, spoiled or what!?!
  • Feb: highlight; serenaded at church by my wonderful hubby...he won major points for that one.  WOW, I still get all giddy when I think about it.  Baby turned 1, he's amazing!!!
  • March: So far, so great.  I am a blessed woman.  You know, not perfect but so glad to learn through the challenges.  Trying to paint lots, show coming up in May.

Lots of insight, revelation, lessons, etc.  I will share soon.  Sooner than 3 months from now!

Currently Reading
The Da Vinci Code, Special Illustrated Edition
By Dan Brown
see related
So I just finished reading the Da Vinci Code...I know, I know, I know...it's total heresy but I wanted to see what the buzz was about.  Exciting and captivating read.  Too bad it's based on lies.  (If you don't know already, the book is based on the idea of Mary Magdalene and Jesus getting-it-on and producing a royal blood line which is a secret kept by a pagan sect.  The book focusses a lot on the idea of a sacred feminine, etc)  I really enjoyed the art history component and the action part.  I guess I worry that when people read it, they will believe that it's based on truth.  Kind of scary but I guess not surprising.

I look up to the mountains, does my help come from there?

My help comes from the Lord, who make the heavens and the earth!

He will not let you stumble and fall; the one who watches over Isreal never tires and never sleeps.

The Lord himself watches over you!  The Lord stands besides you as your protective shade.

The sun will not hurt you by day, nor the moon by night .

The Lord keeps you from all evil and preserves your life.

The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

Psalm 121

The past 2 weeks have been a real challenge:  I was rear-ended on the way home from the gym.  (No damage on the car just some on ny back.)  I got a wicked flu; really bad.  And the worst of all; my Grandma died.  Her funeral was last Saturday.  She wasn't herself over the past few years but I'll miss her anyways.  It was good to say goodbye. Psalm 121 was her favorite chapter in the bible.  The worst part was actually dealing with my extended family -- long story but you know how family can sometimes be...

Anyways, through it all I know that God is soveriegn that ' the joy of the Lord is (indeed) my strength"

"WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN YOUR LIFE. . ." cut n' paste on yer Xanga- you bin "tagged"

10 years ago:
- I was a second year art student who was very deflated about art and felt pretty beat down about it                                                                                                                 - I was by that time really involved with UChurch and Primetime (no, this wasn't for senior citizens; it was a Thurs. night student church/reachout thingy) Decided if I was going to be a Christian, I was going to go all the way...
- I started singing at church and Primetime but my mic kept getting turned down (I've come a long way)                                                                                                             - My mom and I fought all the time; we're too much a like to live together                        - Leland started teaching me guitar lessons and I was starting to notice how hot he is!  (But I actually got shut down pretty badly a few months later when he made it very clear the feeling weren't reciprical (-- yet!!!!))

5 years ago:
- I was teaching mentally disabled Junior High aged kids at an inner city high needs school...
-I think I was still heading up kids church at church
-Was already married for 1.5 years, it was great!
-I was going through lots of healing and deliverance for things of the past.  I felt really set free of lots of stuff.
-I didn't do much art -- I was still feeling defeated about that whole thing.

One Year Ago
- I was starting to 'show' being 6 months pregnant and felt great!
- I think I was writing report cards.  40 hours later...
- I was probably crying at the Rememberance Day Assembly --I always cry and think of my Grandpa.  I miss him.
-I was trying not to drink coffee but I really wanted it....

One Day Ago
- Woke up at 6 to work out with Tara but she called and cancelled so intead of going on my own -- I went back to bed but I couldn't sleep.  Thinking about my next painting.
- Cleaned my house that was looking gross (I know not too exciting...)
- Went to Costco with my childhood friend Erin who happens to live down the street and just had a baby.
- Read House and Home magazine.  Read some of Leland's Stephen King novel...
- Cooked supper for some good friends.

Things i will never wear:
- Mint green LA Gear high top runners -- oh wait, I DID wear those way back!!!
- Really High Heels -- heels are dumb, I dont care how great my calves will look.
- Anything from Eddie Bauer (Except long underwear!)
- Ho boots
- She-ra crown

Five favorite things:
- my family
- the farmer;s market
- going to good art museums
- beautiful things
- walks in the woods

I want to make a difference

I want the world to be a better place because I am obedient to Christ

I want the world to be more beautiful because I make art

I want to reach outside of myself

I want to notice those people that no one really notices

I want to rasie kids that aren't selfish or greedy

I want to really experience life

Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening!!!  It was fantastic!!

It was really funny though I was nervous/excited all day yesterday.  Showing my art feels like the world is looking at all of my insides exposed.  Its good but I'm still getting used to it.

Oh, something really funny happened on the way home...peiganjan drove me home and on the way up 17th Ave, we were trying to ask some people if the flames won (which they did, yipeeeeeeee!!!) anyways this guy in the car next to us who looked about 12 thought we were trying to pick him up.  You should have seen the look on his face he was like "yeah, I'm so hot, these cougars are babes!!"  well, at least we still have it, eh, Jan??????
